FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is SeaHelsinki Sound?
SeaHelsinki Sound is a two-day-festival on water, which supports music culture and the work done to save the Baltic Sea. In the event, artists perform on the deck of a boat and the crowd follows the performances from their own boats or special cruises. The event is created together with numerous local entrepreneurs and support of boat event Uiva, Maritime Centre Vellamo and K-Market Kaivopuisto & Pietari.
I don’t have a boat – how can I participate?
SeaHelsinki Sound organizes itself special cruises to the event. You can purchase a cruise ticket in the same place as a boat ticket at tiketti.fi (ticket sale starts on week 28).
You can also use one of our partners to rent a boat, boat with a driver or a boat taxi to the event. In this case please contact the service provider directly and purchase a boat ticket, if the parter has not done so already.
What is the official ticket to the event?
The official (boat) ticket to the event is a flag attachable to the boat by which you show to be a responsible participant who supports the work done to save the Baltic Sea and has all the required safety equipment on board. You receive the flag by showing your ticket number at the staff boat (mobile one is enough).
For cruise tickets, mobile or printed ticket is shown at the boat entrance.
Can I arrive with kayak, SUP-board or inflatable boat?
We do not recommend using a vehicle smaller than a motorboat. The event area might have difficult waves due to a large number of boats, which can create danger situations.
How do you ensure security during the event?
We work closely with the officials to ensure everyone a safe event. Both the police and the coastguards will be present and we follow closely weather and wind forecasts. We reserve the right to cancel the event even in short notice if the weather condition is unsuitable.
What if I need to pee?
If your own boat does not have a lavatory, you can use the bathrooms located at Lyypekinlaituri next to the Market Square, which is also the official pier of the event.
Is the event accessible?
The event cruise boat is fully accessible and has an inva-bathroom. Assistants are welcomed on board without a fee.
Is there food?
YES – we got you covered! There are salmon wraps and non-alcoholic drinks sold at the info/food boat. You can also drive to Lyypekinlaituri and get snacks from old Market Hall or K-Market Pietari.
